Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's first female artist on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, including her self-released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, from Sweat It Out, on July 21 the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. In the following season, the music was played around Dreamville. Her announcement to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was supported by EarthGang. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013, she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then she released the song in a solo version for her debut album. The song was followed by an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube within one week. In support of the track She toured together with 6LACK in December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
